second unit consulting is a management consultancy for digital transformation and strategic IT. We help organisations translate complex challenges into clear, future-proof solutions.
As a start-up we draw on the experience of a team that comes from a software company with more than 40 years of history. That combines entrepreneurial agility with deep practical and delivery experience. Our focus lies on digital sovereignty, guiding digital transformation, and methods for aligning IT with business goals.
We believe AI has fundamentally changed software development — not at some point in the future, but today. Developers used to write code; today they develop together with AI. We are looking for somebody who would no longer want to develop without Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
Your job with us
You do not simply build features; you turn ideas into market-ready software. You use modern AI tooling consistently to develop faster, in a more structured way and more efficiently.
Together we define the product vision, the requirements and the target architecture. You then take on the technical delivery largely independently and bring your own technical expertise to bear. You work on several applications in parallel and use AI where it genuinely adds value. You do not build AI — you build software with AI.
Your responsibilities in particular
- Developing modern, fully responsive web applications
- Turning new product ideas into production-ready code
- Building high-performance front ends with React or OpenUI5
- Backend connections and API integrations
- Data modelling with PostgreSQL
- Building automated tests
- Refactoring and continuously improving existing applications
- Producing technical documentation
- Contributing to architecture decisions
- Ensuring a high standard of code quality
- Contributing to planning in Azure DevOps
Your profile
You know when AI saves time and when human engineering is called for. You also know when AI eats time, how to avoid that, and how to put the time you gain to good use.
Strong knowledge of
- TypeScript
- JavaScript
- React, OpenUI5 and other frameworks
- PostgreSQL
You are able to
- write precise prompts
- assess AI-generated code critically
- generate automated tests
- produce documentation
- carry out refactoring
- design architectures with AI
- quality-assure AI output
Desirable / an advantage
AI is not an experiment for you but part of everyday work. You are at home with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
